Research Interests

The conference theme is “New Developments in Technology Transfer and Academic Entrepreneurship (TT-AE),” and the particular research interests are: 

At the “micro” level (individual), Factors that motivate academic entrepreneurs and public-sector entrepreneurs

  • The role of identity in TT-AE 
  • The role of work-life balance in TT-AE 
  • The role of organizational justice in TT-AE 
  • Inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility in TT-AE 

At the “meso” level (organizational), N-Helix Technology Transfer [University, Federal Labs, Industry, Government, NGOs, civic society] 

  • Strategy formulation and implementation relating to TT-AE by universities, federal/national labs, other public research organizations, and private companies. 
  • New methods to assess the economic and social impact of TT-AE 

At the “macro” level (context/region), Science Policy 

  • Technology Transfer Ecosystems: Entrepreneurial, Innovation, and Sustainable 
  • Public Policy Challenges: Intellectual Property, Open Innovation, Digitalization, Artificial Intelligence 
  • The role of TT-AE at Federal/National Labs and other Public Research Organizations

Submission Guidelines

Extended abstract requirements: For those wishing to participate by presenting a paper, we encourage you to submit an extended abstract (up to 900 words) that should: 

  1. Align well with the conference theme and at least one listed research interest. 
  2. Include (a) a title, (b) indicate the particular research interest, (c) the research objective, (d) the theoretical approach, (e) the methodological design, (f) preliminary findings, (g) preliminary academic contributions and implications, (h) five key references (not included in the 900 words) 
  3. Include the contact information of all authors (e.g., full names, affiliations, emails). 
  4. At least one author should confirm attendance in case the abstract is accepted. 
  5. Up to two (2) abstract submissions are allowed per author. 


 Extended abstract submission process: You can submit your extended abstract no later than Friday, May 16th, 2025. To do so, 

  1. Please create an account [sign up] for the conference management platform, OXFORD Abstracts
  2. Verify your email to activate your Oxford Abstract account [check your inbox and/or junk folders: sender Oxford Abstracts and the subject: Verify email]. 
  3. Once you verify your email, the platform will redirect you to start the submission process. If the platform doesn’t redirect you, log in and submit your abstract in the Submit a Paper button. 
  4. The notification of acceptance/rejection will be sent during the week commencing on Monday, June 16th, 2025, with early/late registration instructions and logistical information.
